Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv Briefs New FFCI Officers on Consular and Labor Services

The Federation of Filipino Community in Israel (FFCI) invited the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv to provide a briefing on consular and labor services to the new officers of the FFCI during a conference organized by the federation on 20 May 2017.

 

During the conference, the different offices, functions and programs of the Embassy were discussed by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Judy Razon to give the new officers an overview of the Embassy’s role in the implementation of rules on regulations relative to the Philippines’ foreign policy. Vice Consul Razon also discussed the various consular services provided by the Embassy. Labor Attaché Rudy Gabasan discussed labor-related matters, particularly the laws and regulations that ensure the protection of the rights of OFWs in Israel, while Welfare Officer Nel Chanco talked about the benefits of OWWA membership.

 

FCI was represented by its new President, Mr. Elias Gadiano, Financial Assistance Fund Chairman Joeffrey Olayan, Secretary Alicia Bonifacio and Treasurer Mardy Rosimo. Newly-elected officers from the following organizations were also present: Association of Igorot Migrant Workers in Israel (AIMWI), Phil-Asia Society in Israel (PASI), Association of Tarlakeños in Israel (Tarlakeños), Cagayan Valley Association in Israel (CVAI), and Timpuyug Dagiti Umuli Ti La Union (TULUY).

 

The planning conference provided the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv and the new officers of FFCI and other community organizations with an opportunity to learn from each other and discuss programs that would promote the Philippines, its people and culture in Israel. – END –
