19 November 2016, Tel Aviv, State of Israel – The Philippine Embassy in Israel, led by Ambassador Neal Imperial, conducted a consular outreach mission in the southern Israeli city of Eilat on 18 to 19 November 2016.

The Embassy provided passport renewal services, notarials, Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) issuance and processing of OWWA membership. Consul Bryan Jess Baguio, Labor Attaché Rudy Gabasan and Welfare Officer Nel Chanco provided services and met with the leaders of the Filipino Community in Eilat. The consular mission was held during the first social night organized and attended by the Filipino Community in Eilat, ensuring wider participation. There are about 200 Filipino nationals living in Eilat mostly employed in the caregiving sector.

Eilat is the farthest city in Israel from the Philippine Embassy, which is located in Tel Aviv. It shares borders with both Egypt and Jordan, and is a major seaport which serves as an important entry/exit point in southern Israel in case of evacuation/emergency situations due to its strategic location. --- END
