Filipino Visual Artist Holds Solo Exhibit in Israel

11 September 2016, Tel Aviv, State of Israel – Contemporary Filipino visual artist, Mr. Vince Darwin “Winner” Jumalon, held a solo exhibit titled “I Come in Peace” in Jaffa, Israel on 08-11 September 2016. The exhibit featured large oil paintings by Jumalon completed in the course of his three- month artist residency in Israel. The paintings depicted the artist’s interactions and connections with the people and the land of Israel during his stay.


Jumalon is the first Filipino visual artist to be part of the Tiroche DeLeon Residency Program of the Tiroche DeLeon Collection. The 2-3 month residency, now on its second year, aims to support emerging talented artists from other countries.


 Jumalon received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of the Philippines and has exhibited throughout Southeast Asia as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Italy and the USA. In 2009, he was awarded the Thirteen Artists Award, conferred by the Cultural Center of the Philippines. He is from Manila and is represented by Yavuz Gallery in Singapore. – END
