Smiles for the World: A Filipino Photo Essay Contest - Deadline Extended

 

smiles-new-posterThe Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv announces the extension of the deadline of the submission of entries to the photo contest entitled "Smiles for the World: A Filipino Photo Essay Contest on Calidad Humana" is now set on 30 April 2013.

This competition is jointly organized by the Embassy of Chile, the Embassy of Brazil (in the Philippines) the Cultural Center of the Philippines, University of Sto. Tomas, University of Asia and the Pacific, University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, Coca Cola, McDonalds and the Philippine Star.

The event is intended to showcase, through the medium of photography and a short essay, the delight of the Filipino smile as an expression of human qualities like friendship, steadfastness, cheerfulness, optimism, fortitude and resilience, among others, thus portraying a culture of excellence in society.

The First Prize Winner of the contest will be awarded with a round-trip ticket to Brazil and Chile with accommodations, in addition to the USD 1,000.00 cash prize.
